March 12, 2019
San Diegans have long celebrated the ode to the Irish by participating in St. Paddy’s Day activities. Not only is the holiday an excuse to gather with friends and family; it’s an excuse to drink all the Irish Whiskey and green beer your heart desires. (Did you know what green beer is actually just beer mixed with blue food coloring?) Although the annual holiday falls on March 17, most parades and parties are being held on March 16 so residents will be well-rested for work on Monday.
There is so much to do in San Diego for the green holiday you may feel as if you’re closer to Ireland than you actually are. If you’re feeling in the Irish spirit and want to hear lads in kilts playing bagpipes, this year’s San Diego St. Patrick’s Day Parade might be the activity for you, with “celebrating Irish music” as the theme and including over 120 parade float entries. If you still want to rock out to music with a more modern feel, San Diego’s ShamROCK Block Party might be for you with DJs, Irish dancers, and lots and lots of green beer and Irish Whiskey. But, if you want a more relaxed day with friends and family, join us for one of our Chauffered Brewery Tours around San Diego County.
