How do we book a tour?
Tours can be booked online or you can call us to book. Feel free to call if you have questions before booking. Don’t know what day to join us? Buy Wine, Beer & Spirits Tour Gift Certificates! Gift Certificates make excellent gifts and have no expiration date and can be redeemed anytime, for any tour.

What are your hours?
Our tours run year-round, every day. Our website is open 24/7, and we have agents available via phone 9am – 5pm Pacific Monday through Friday, and 9am – 1pm Pacific on Saturday and Sundays.

Do your tours run year round, and how much in advance should we book?
We run our tours every day, year round, rain or shine, just be sure to contact us ahead of time to book. We suggest you contact us as soon as you know which day you’d like to book as our tours often sell out very fast. Last minute reservations could work, so don’t hesitate to try. No tours Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day.

Are there set times for each tour?
Our luncheon and dinner party start times can be customized. Generally the walking tours start between 1:30 pm and 2:15 pm. The train tours start as early as 11:45 am.  The wine country tours start at approx. 11 am. For groups we can customize the times and offerings on most of our tours.

How do we get a discount?
We can often offer special pricing on certain days/tours. We have group discounts available (certain holidays excluded) on most of our tours.

Can we book a private tour?
Private tours are often available and can be arranged directly via email or telephone.

How many guests can you accommodate?
The minimum number that we take is 2 to 4 guests and our maximum is 2000 guests! If you are a group of 15 or more please contact the office for a quote.

Will my party be the only one on the tour?
Unless otherwise stated, tours are open to the public. Each public tour typically has 2-16 guests. When there are other guests besides you, your tour guide is expert in bringing all of you together so you have a super fun time. If you would prefer a private tour, just ask (typically requires payment of 8-14 tickets depending on which tour/day).

Do you do tours/events for corporate groups?
Absolutely, we have many different options available for our corporate groups. Please give us a call or email and we’ll customize the perfect event for your group.

What’s included in the tour ticket price?
Your ticket price includes all food and wine/beer and guided tour. It does not include tour guide gratuity (20% industry standard) or 9% handling fee. Train tours do not include train/trolley ticket which you purchase day of tour.

Where do we meet?
Our beer/wine walking tours typically meet in the lobby of Empress Hotel: 7766 Fay Ave, La Jolla. There are low-cost parking lots nearby. Don’t park in 2 hr. spots.

You can join us on our train tours easily from most San Diego locations using public transportation (train, trolley, bus). Let us know where you are staying and we’ll tell you where your closest train station is and the time the train leaves.

What should we wear?
You may want to dress for a special day out as you’ll have some great photo ops!

We recommend good walking shoes on all of our tours! For our walking and train tours, we will be walking about 1-2 miles total.

Please bring an umbrella, if chance of rain, as our tours run rain or shine.

Wear layers in order to be prepared for temperature changes. Bring hat/sun protection for sunny weather, and a jacket/sweater for cooler weather.

What else should we bring?
Please plan ahead and bring some cash to tip your wonderful tour guide (unless prepaid at time of booking).

Bring your ID.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded, and typically cannot be rescheduled as your space is being guaranteed. However, we may be able to offer you another tour/date, or provide you with gift certificates to use anytime in the future ($15 ea. reschedule fee may apply). Purchased tickets are transferable.

Please give yourself ample time to get yourself to your tour start. Unfortunately, it is very difficult for us to accommodate guests that arrive late, as our tour guide must leave with the guests promptly and thereby be on time for the wonderful festivities that we’ve planned for you.

If by chance (and very rare) that public transportation fails to run on the day of your tour, we apologize but we are unable to provide refunds. We may, however, be able to offer you another tour/date.

I have allergies/diet restrictions, can you change the menus at the tour stops?
Please speak with one of our booking agents if you have any dietary restrictions. On some of our tours we can typically accommodate vegetarian and/or gluten free (additional costs may apply). Otherwise menus are preset; we cannot do substitutions. There will be a variety of food and usually something to suit everyone. We do have custom menu tours; please contact the office for more details. Note that we cannot guarantee the premises are free of your allergens. Please check with the restaurant/winery/brewery staff if you have any concerns.

I have a medical need, what should I do?
Please let your booking agent know if have any special medical needs, including wheelchairs or walkers.

Can we get a ride to the tour start?
We have transportation options available for all our tours for an additional price. Please call us for details. Note: Your transportation with pick up and drop off service is included in your price on our Chauffeured Brewery and Winery Tours.

Can we bring our children on your tours?
Guests drinking alcohol must be 21+. Guests 18-20 are permitted on our tours but may not be allowed into certain establishments. Guests 17 and younger must purchase a private tour.

What is the difference between the Winery Train Tour Routes?
We offer up to three Winery Train Tour routes every day Monday – Friday. When the first route sells out we open up the second route, and then the third once the second route sells out. All routes are essentially the same tour except one route travels North to South and the others travel South to North. Depending on where you are coming from, there is only about an hour difference of when you need to be ready and when the tour ends.

For example, if you are staying Downtown San Diego:

For the 1:50 pm start time Route 1 (traveling North to South), you can pick up the Northbound Coaster train from the Downtown Coaster station at about 12:50 pm. That train will take you to Carlsbad Village in perfect timing for the 1:50 pm start time.

For the 12:00 pm start time Route 2 (traveling from South to North) you will meet your tour guide in Old Town outside the Cosmopolitan Hotel.

For the 11:45 am start time Route 3 (traveling from South to North) you will meet your tour guide in Seaport Village (located in downtown San Diego) at 11:45 am.
